Either or: it could be the start of a hernia or it could be a simple muscle bruised groin muscle if you do not see a bulge put your hand on the area that hurt and cough if you felt air rushing through then it could be the start of a hernia either way start taking 600-800 mg of ibuprofen three times a day after or with meals for a week go easy on the exercise ,use heat pad on the groin see your doctor
