Half-Life: The half-life of a medication is the amount of time (usually measured in hours) that it takes for one-half of the amount of drug in your body to be eliminated by your kidneys, liver, or some other means. For most people it takes 5 half-lives for the drug to be completely out of your body after you take the last dose. For INVOKANA, it would be 10.6 x 5 or 53 hours after you took the last dose.

Drug Half life : Great Wikipedia question where they have more room than we have here. Sometimes it simply means how long it takes for it to disappear from the blood but can also mean how long it does what it is supposed to do such as lower BP. The Two are not always correlated. Go to drugs.com for specific drug information.
