A member asked:

I had an endometriotic nodule on my ureter visualised in surgery for endometriosis but too complex to remove without a urologist. why has the nodule not shown up on an mri despite not being removed after surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis ?'s: Endometriosis "nodules" are best observed during direct visualization during surgery (usually laparoscopic surgery to prove endometriosis as cause for severe menstrual pain). These "nodules" or implants will not generally show on MRI or CT scans if such tests are not done at the time of menstruation. Best treatment is low dose oral bcps. Consult your gyn physician.
