A member asked:

I have had a mirena for 3/3,5 years and besides the first month had no mensuration- suddenly this evening i have started to menstruate - should i be concerned or check in with my gynae?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mirena IUD?'s: An IUD can shift position and be forced into the cervical canal by uterine contractions, which can cause both pain and bleeding. Check with your gyn for an exam and possible other testing to determine the position of the IUD, which may need removal and replacing.
