No connection: The bottom line is that there are no actual studies linking TUMS or calcium consumption to placental calcifications. Many midwifes, Bradley instructors, etc will say that TUMS causes them, but on the other side, most OB Dr's say they don't. If you are still concerned, and want to avoid TUMS, try taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted into an 8oz glass of water
