A member asked:

Does hsg test causes delay in periods ?? i have got mixed answers for my query as some doctors says no while other doctors says some residual dye remains in reproductive part which cause delay !?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HSG testing ?'s: An HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a test for infertility (tubal obstruction) and will have no effect directly on your intrinsic ovulatory cycle. The "dye" is harmless to your regulatory hormonal mechanisms. If pregnancy after an HSG is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy.
