Hi doc i am a sexually active 23 year old female l, i took an emergency contraceptive on the 4th day of having unprotected sex. my periods came on the intended day last moth. this month they have delayed by 3 days, what could be the cause?

Increased concern regarding possible pregnancy will sometimes delay ovulation, which will also delay the next period. To be certain, obtain a serum HCG test, and if negative, ask your GYN physician about oral bcp's for contraception.
