A member asked:

Dr prescribed librax, but i came to know that i has benzo in it. what is an alternative that doesn't contain a benzo, that could be used for mild/moderate abdominal pain instead of librax ? please can you suggest other options to discuss with my dr?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abdominal pain: Usually librax is used with suspected irritable bowel syndrome. If that is the diagnosis then there are several options available based on the kind of ibs you have whether predominantly diarrhea or constipation or mixed. You can always try pure antispasmodics with an anxiety medication on the side that is non dependence causing like sertraline. You can also consult a gastroenterologist.
