Fever can be normal: A fever at 7 mo old is fairly normal. They touch everything and it all goes in the mouth, so viral illness is common. There is no such thing as a teething fever. Both acetaminophen (paracetamol) or ibuprofen can be given if the fever elevates or doesn't come down. A warm bath and good hydration. As long as the child is drinking, is alert, and consolable they can be watched. Call your doc if worse.

How does he look?: If he is alert, is willing to drink some fluids, wants to cuddle with you and have you read to him that favorite book, he does not need a doctor tonight. Fever is not a disease that needs treatment - it is just one of many symptoms that something is going on. At his age, likely a virus, but if he is not acting right or fever persists, then call your doc tomorrow for further advice. Drink lots!
