Fever: He is a little too old to be teething. More than likely he has a viral illness.If fever persists have him checked by your doctor

Viral illness possib: It is myth that teething causes infection ,it could be quincidence .Your son may be having mild viral infection -having fever and stuffy nose.These symptoms may go away in 2-3 days.watch for fever or cough ,if persisting then see doctor .
