Sore throat: Sore throat for the most part is treated the same way irrespective of pregnancy. It is usually viral and recommended symptom management. You can do saline gargles. Take acetaminophen as needed for pain, rest and good hydration. Can drink warm liquids and use throat lozenges.

Acetaminophen: Is the safest pain medication in pregnancy. Often sore throats are due to post-nasal drip. You can use saline nasal spray to clear out the mucus. Most other over-the-counter cough/cold medicines are considered safe in pregnancy, but there have been few studies to prove their safety or danger. Avoid Ibuprofen or naproxen.
