Yes.: Little smeely white chunks are common in the back of the throat and are known as tonsoliths. Sometimes they can be coughed up or expressed from pockets in the tonsils. They are nothing to worry about.

If it becomes chronic and hard to live with, you can consider having your tonsils removed. That will ultimately solve the problem.

Sounds like it.: Could be viral upper respiratory tract infection which would generally include additional symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, cough, etc. Could also be early strep throat which should not have many additional symptoms.

Vocal cord ulcer: A couple possibilities would be a vocal cord ulcer, throat or vocal cord hemorrhage, or laryngocele or pharyngocele. These latter two are herniations of the mucous membrane of the larynx or throat respectively. If it persists for two weeks see ent.
