Diastema: A diastema (space) can be caused by malocclusion (improperly fitting teeth, Upper front teeth too small to cover lower front teeth, gum/bone loss, pernicious habits, and a proportionately overly large frenum (connective tissue). Your General Dentist can point you in the right direction for care, depending on the cause of your problem. You may need services of Orthodontist &/or Periodontist.

Gum specialist visit: You need to make an appointment with a PERIODONTIST (a gum specialist) in order to keep this disease from getting worse .You have a lot of bone loss that is causing your teeth to be loose and spreading apart. You could loose these and other teeth if you don't seek treatment Home treatment on your own at this stage won't help. Good oral hygiene is lacking.
