A member asked:

Why would a high resolution ct scan be normal while a standard ct scan find local opacities and parenchymal disease. what is the reason for this? i would expect a high resolution ct to have more detail than a standard resolution ct?

Clear vision: An analogy would be seeing things less clearly when you need a pair of new eye glasses. The artefacts you were seeing due to refractive error are resolve with new glasses and a better resolution image forming on your retina. You may wish to talk to the radiologist who read the CTs. Wish you good health!
