A member asked:

Confused please help: is 2.59 (upper limit of 2.55 mmol) a normal ser. calcium for a 20 year old? i understand its a higher calcium level but what does this mean? normal by age or? last year 2.72 (upper limit 2.55 mmol) with album. 49.9 limit of 49?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not abnormal: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your calcium level is within the normal range. as is albumin. Wish you good health!
