A member asked:

How does standing too long stresses out our legs, knees, feet and ankles?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Standing long: The feet, ankle and legs bear the weight of the whole body while standing. To do that they have to maintain the tone in the muscles for extended periods of time which can tire them out. Also when you are standing for extended periods, the return of blood from your veins in the legs is not good as the muscles are not moving to help pump the blood back up which adds to the fatigue and stress.
