Pain in lover left abdomen, about 6 months. weird stools (soft, mucousy/ foul smelling) for about a year. i know its not suppose to smell great but this is just horrible. i have an appt in 2 months.. ive had c.dif like 2 years ago, test negativ?

Left abdomen: Left lower abdominal pain with mucus in loose stools is often a symptom of irritable bowel syndrome. Other possibilities are inflammatory bowel disease or diverticulitis of the descending colon. I find that very foul smelling stools is nonspecific. Rather than waiting 2 months for an appointment, get referred to a gastroenterologist who can see you soon. In the meantime avoid insoluble fiber.
