Recently diagnosed with possible pvera. i am a 22 year old female and previously have been healthy. my red blood cell came back extremely high for my age. hct 66 hgb 21. neg. for jak 2, neg. sleep apnea, unremarkable mri from chest down. whats next?

Referral needed: In the diagnosis algorithm for p vera serum erythropoietin level helps distinguish between primary and secondary polycythemia. It will be unusual to have P Vera without a Jak 2 mutation and/or splenomegaly. However such variants have been described. Best would be to have work up completed by a Hematology specialist.
