A member asked:

Am 29 weeks pregnant and previously had a cone biopsy ( 2 years ago) so will that impact my delivery in any way and is it possible that if the virus(hpv) is still present the baby can contract it and what are the risks of natural delivery if any?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cone biopsy ?'s: A cone biopsy will produce scarring of the cervical canal, and may make a vaginal delivery more difficult. HPV will not be transferred to your child unless you have acquired another HPV infection (there are many types). Discuss your OB physician's plans for your delivery, and make an informed choice. You may elect to have a C/S.
