Painful menses ?'s: If your periods are significantly painful, this may represent endometriosis, which can interfere with fertility. Ask your gyn about oral bcps, which will preserve fertility as well as controlling endometriosis. Ibuprofen is OK in the short run, but long term can cause problems. Oral bcp's will decrease the need to take ibuprofen.
