A member asked:

Had my annual bloodwork and all good except mpv is high at 13.5 the range is 7.5-12.5. my platelet count is 256 which is good as range 140-400. do i need to worry about high mpv? can i do anything to lower? everything else is great?

No concern: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a slightly elevated MPV is not cause for concern. You are likely to do more harm by chasing it than leaving it alone. Wish you good health!
