A member asked:

Monocytes above normal since 2020, .90, 2021 .97, 2022 1.26. wbc and all else perfect range. physically feel great. dr didn't mention it when reviewing bloodwork. performed rbc & platelet smear and normal too. could issue be cmml after 3 years?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A monocyte count higher than 1000/mm cube and 10% of white cell count reclassifies as chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. A high monocyte count can be due to chronic infection or inflammation. Other features of CMML are big spleen, high white cell counts and constitutional symptoms. please see your doctor with your concern who has complete report.
