A member asked:

I got a blood panel done and was told my white blood cell count is 96,600 and my b12 level was also a lot higher than it should have been, im being referred to a hemotologist this week, any ideas on what could be causing this?

Very high WBC: Are you sure you have the number right? WBC count 96,600 and not maybe 9,600? Definitely keep the hematology appointment. Unfortunately, leukemia is the most likely possibility. (Sorry, but you asked.) If you can't see the hematologist in the next day, please discuss it with the doctor who ordered the count and referred you to the hematologist. S/He should have discussed this with you. Good luck.
