Hematologist: My 90 y/o GM released today WBC 19.6, HB 8.4, BS 270. Causes? ANS: 1. She had diabetes mellitus as cause for high BS. Without knowing what else she has or why she was in hosp or detailed medical Hx or her physical examination now there are too many causes of a high abc and low Hb to discuss. Ask the Dr. who recommended she see a hematologist is the fastest and prob only way to a good answer.
