Interstitial Cystiti: Interstitial cystitis (in-tur-STISH-ul sis-TIE-tis) is a chronic condition causing bladder pressure, bladder pain and sometimes pelvic pain. The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe pain. The condition is a part of a spectrum of diseases known as painful bladder syndrome. It is important to work closely with your Urologist to keep the symptoms and progression managed.

Reassured: I think that you can be reassured that your microhematuria or dipstick positive for blood is not caused by any malignant process as you have been adequately worked up by your urologist. I would attribute the findings to your interstitial cystitis, but, as mentioned by the previous physician, good urology follow-up is important.
