Doubt : IC doesn't classically present with gross hematuria, IC is a diagnosis of exclusion that presents with symptoms of dysuria, urgency& frequency with a negative workup for other causes. Cystoscopically, the urologist may detect small pinpoint red dots of hemmorhage but microscopically it can look normal, or show inflammation and ulceration. Mast cells have been implicated with scant evidence.
