I am 44 had abnormal paps due to hpv. had biopsy s (good) etc. pap came with endo cells. but was on last day of period...can period cause that?

Yes: It is not uncommon to see endometrial cells on a pap smear, especially with the newer liquid phase preparations. It would be more worrisome if you had irregular bleeding or spotting between periods. Many clinicians would repeat the pap smear when you are not menstruating to be more certain.
