Does emax crowns require no preparation or very minimum amount of tooth preparation?

Wrong: A beautiful, functional crown, regarless of the materal, required a technique sensitive preparation. A poor crown preparation will fail in certain aspect (poor margin, crack, poor esthetic). Certain thickness of the crown in certain areas provide strength and esthetics. Emax is a strong material, but most things in life fail because of how we build them, usually not from material failure.

Lithium Disilicate: Emax is the type of material that is used to fabricate the crown. Regarding the amount of tooth preparation, it depends on the condition of the tooth in question, the bite, the color, and the position of the tooth in the arch. There may be a little bit less preparation.

Emax: There are 2 types. Ips e.Max press lithium disilicate which can be use with only .3mm of reduction for venners, and ips e.Max CAD lithium disilicate which can require more reduction, albert einstein said no 2 things can occupy the same space at the same time, therefore if you try to put a full coverage crown on the bite will be high unless you reduce the tooth to make room and it will look bulky.
