Abnormal LFT's: These abnormally high liver enzymes can be caused by heavy alcohol ingestion, but can also be caused by viral hepatitis. A hepatitis A, B and C panel should be performed. I also suggest consulting a hepatologist or a gastroenterologist for complete evaluation, treatment and follow-up care. A liver ultrasound and biopsy may be advised. In the meantime, complete abstinence from alcohol is vital.
