Hi there. in my routine gynaecological check-up last year a 1cm fibroid was detected and has since grown to 2cm. i'm not experiencing any adverse effects but i'm now wondering if i really have to wait for it to grow to get surgery. is there treatment?

Varies widely: For some fibroids grow very slowly over many years. For others they grow very quickly. There is no way to know how fast or slow your grew unless you had another sonogram at some other point in your life where you could compare the growth over time.
