See obgyn: The frequency of menses is not controlled by fibroids. Surgery for remove fibroids would decrease bleeding (if you had it), decreased pain (if you had it), and possibly improve chances of pregnancy. In someone who is over 35, without periods for over a year and trying to conceive, a full workup is recommended by an obgyn. Good luck
