A member asked:

I have been having ibs related pain in my abdominal lower left side. it has healed a bit by avoiding gluten. recently, over the last 2-3 weeks i have been having a constant sweet taste that does not go away. what could it be related to?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sweet taste: Apart from diabetes, persistent sweet taste in the mouth can be caused by GERD despite the acidic contents of the reflux. Occasionally a sinus infection with associated postnasal drip may cause a persistent sweet taste.
