A member asked:

Can sleeping in a cold house with windows open cause a cold? have stuffy nose & sinus pressure/draining after sleeping 2 nights with windows open in a cold house. or is it just the sudden change in temperature outside that caused it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Colds and other upper respiratory infections are caused by viruses. They tent to circulate more often during the "cold" times of the year when people congregate closely together allowing these germs to transfer more easily. Stress of any type can weaken your immune response & make you more susceptible to colds.
