A member asked:

My 2 year old son have multiple enlarged lymph nodes in his neck for 4 months, the largest one is 3.2 cm. he doesnt feel sick or look sick , hes still very energetic, do you think this could be cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The risk of lymphatic cancer at that age is miniscule. Most are simple reactive lymph nodes that sift the body serum to remove debris. Vaccination. illnesses, throat infection, local bug bites or skin rashes often trigger transient enlargement. Occasionally a note becomes infected & needs to be drained, but not commonly. Neck nodes ore often noticed since they are not buried in fat or tissue.
