My gynecologist found a 5cm x 4cm large cyst on my ovary and asked me to wait for 3 months to have a new ultrasound and ordered a ca125 blood test. does this mean he suspects cancer? would an abdominal ultrasound detect a cancerous cyst?

Not necessarily: Neither ultrasound nor CA 125 is diagnostic of ovarian cancer. To make a proper diagnosis would require examination of the tissue by a pathologist. Some cyst may resolve with time.
