Had cmc arthroplasty 2 days ago. not sure exact method, 2 screws and suspension he said. the pain, not bad, is mostly on the back of my hand and it itches. is this normal?

Yes: Skin and other soft tissues have been cut, and bony changes have occurred. As nerves repair, itching, pain, and other sensations will normally occur. If they are too irritating, speak with your doc regarding topical lidocaine (OTC), ice packs, moisturizers or other techniques to assist until healing advances. Good,luck
