MPV: MPV indicates producing more platelets. How high is it? May be just above the cut off ( and about 5% of people have values above the cut off) or higher The MPV must be considered together (X)w/ platelet-=called the total platelet mass. Increased MPV can be due to hyperthyrodism , DM,HTN, low Vit D, heart/blood issues, some cancers F/u/ w/ MD/hematology
