I am on bactrim currently. i started yesterday morning at 11 am. my last dose was at 11 am today. i accidentally (stupidly) drank almost of my glass of wine/sparkling water. i immediately stopped. should i be concerned?

Bactrim: Do your feel ok right now? Mixing alcohol with Bactrim can cause rapid heart rate, nausea, vomiting, feeling hot, tingling. Glad you stopped when you did. If you are assymptomatic it is probably ok. Make sure not to drink alcohol while you are taking this medication.

So far, so good: One of the ingredients in Bactrim can interact with alcohol and cause very unpleasant side effects. It appears that you'll be ok. According to some pharmacists, small amounts of alcohol may not cause severe reactions with Bactrim, but don't drink anymore alcohol until you're off Bactrim for over 24-48 hours to be safe. Your pharmacist can advise you further.
