Monitoring DM: Fasting glucose is blood glucose after 8 hours from last meal. Usually person checks glucose before eating, which is not necessarily 8 hours from the last meal, it is known as preprandial glucose and 2 hours after first bite of meal, postprandial blood sugar. Arithmetic mean of all glucose value is average glucose. HBA1C is percentage of hemoglobin in blood glycosalated due to high blood sugar.
