What to do if i had a fasting blood glucose test and have been told it was high, i now have to have a hba1c on tuesday?

HbA1c: This is a blood test that tells the doctor how well your blood sugar has been controlled over the last 3 months. If you had a high fasting sugar and your A1c is very high then you will know that you have diabetes and it is not well-controlled. If you have a low / normal A1c then you probably just starting to develop diabetes and can treat it with diet and exercise first.

Is it true that fasting of 8h is must for blood plasma glucose level testing. One doctor said that fasting more than 8h give heigher values. I did about 13h and got 82mg/dL from lab. Now I do not need Hba1c or any test right?

Are these test accurate for insulin resistance? Or do I need Insulin level test? My HbA1c was 30% (4.9) and my Fasting Blood glucose was 4.4 nmol (79.2). My triglycerides are 60.1mg.dl, LDL is 90.7 and HDL is 47.8. Docs are unsure if I have IR PCOS?
