A member asked:

Benign cervical tissue (transformation zone with squamous metaplasia and benign endocervical glands. low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (lsil/cin 1). fragments of benign endometrial tissue. rare fragments of benign endocervical glands?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Discuss with Dr: CIN 1 is a precancerous change of the cervix, usually just found on the PAP smear (no symptoms) & almost always caused by the HPV virus. Most of the time it does NOTbecome cancerous & the changes are very slow, BUT it is VERY important to have regular PAP smears & talk to the Dr who did this one about follow up. Sometimes a patient needs a colposcopy exam to look more closely at the cervix change
