A member asked:

I took 45mg of elemental iron and i am not anemic, this is my first time taking this pill, should i be worried about an overdose?

No: First, you should not need to supplement iron intake as long as you eat a varied diet and are not anemic. Second, to give you some perspective, the body has ~45mg/kg of iron at any given time. Daily supplementation for anemic individuals usually start at 65mg of elemental iron (325 ferrous sulfate) 3 times per day. Taking a one time pill containing 45mg of elemental iron should be just fine.
