IronTabs: Iron tabs do correct iron deficiency. A rare person can get iron overloaded, with liver and other organ injury, but this is very rare from oral iron. Most folks get GI upset from iron tabs. Stool changes. IV iron and many blood transfusions are the cause of most iron load problems.

Iron supplementation: If your anemia is iron deficiency, taking iron long term should not be an issue. However, the real question becomes, where are you losing it? This truly requires a gastrointestinal evaluation and should not be ignored!
