Basics: The nerves are one cell type that rarely regenerates/heals once damaged beyond repair. It sounds like the ENT basically said your ear nerve on that side is dead.How it got that way is not clear from the post. You may want to clarify that with the doc as the medical jargon is often confusing to many. Yes you should take care of your good ear.
