A member asked:
my 7 year old son. two days ago started with diarrhea. that day he went twice to the bathroom. i also noticed he had a low grade fever of 98 and 99 for the past two days that comes and goes. yesterday, he only went to the bathroom once and it wasnt diarrhea like the first day. we are part of a co-op for school with 9 children total in the pod. i just wondering if i should get him tested before returning to the pod and should the whole family do it and/or quarantine. kids symptoms ?

At baseline : If he is well, no fever or symptoms of an infection, provide hydration. COVID screening may remain positive for some time, use social distancing and screen prior to re entry to school. Diarrheal illnes May be due to a number of causes, provide a pro biotic daily and encourage fluids. Monitor temperature, but if screening negative, may return. Please call your pediatrician.
