A member asked:

Had mammo and us today. scheduled for biopsy/aspiration wed. reports states 'there is an oval hypoechoic mass. this abuts a dominant cyst. it has no posterior acoustic features. it measures 6 mm. it has vascularity'. is this a complicated cyst?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably: Simple cysts are usually fluid filled & full of echoes, so a hypoechoic cyst can be considered complicated, & the biopsy is a good idea to evaluate the tissue, but try not to worry too much while waiting for the biopsy results (easier said than done)
