Yes: X-rays of your thoracic spine will include some of the chest but not all the chest. Include the chest you need a chest x-ray which is generally taking AP and lateral. Which means a front on view or frontal and a side view

Depends on spine par: For the cervical spine x-ray, sometimes you can see part of the UPPER chest. For a thoracic spine x-ray, YES. For a lumbar spine x-ray, possibly parts of the lower chest. The x-ray technique (power settings, etc) are different for the spine and chest contents, however, and therefore even if the chest is visible, the spine x-ray is not optimized for chest content visualization.
