A member asked:

Does a 24 hour heart monitor see if you had a heart attack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: Twenty-four hour monitors are set up to record moment to moment variations in rhythm. The digital record submits any suspicious variations to be printed out & reviewed...for rhythm. A regular Electrocardiogram can reveal acute changes that suggest a heart attack or abnormalities that suggest damage from prior events. Other studies are needed to sort out all such issues.
