A member asked:

My internist was my primary care md until he moved. can an internist/cardiologist i saw twice before become my primary care provider, or most likely not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Just ask: I doubt if any cardiologist would agree to function as a primary care doc since they have some of the longest work hours of all specialties. They have much to do within their chosen specialty. You can always ask, but I would seek out another internist if I was in your situation.
