I hemorrhagic complex ovarian cyst. also my progesterone is low and prolactin is high. my doctor gave me antibiotics and levonorgestrel for the ovarian cyst. i've hirsutism so i'm worried about taking levonorgestrel. will it not make things worse?

Prolactin ?'s: A high prolactin, coupled with a "low progesterone" may indicate a pituitary condition of irregular menses, hirsuitism and polycystic ovaries. If your prolactin level is over 100, your physician may order an MRI to check for pituitary tumors. Ask about low dose oral contraceptives as a treatment to preserve fertility and lessen thickening of the uterine lining.
